Cosdon Hill, also called Cosdon Beacon, is a huge rounded hill on the northern edge of the moor above South Zeal. It was first recorded in 1240 and for a long time was wrongly thought to be the highest point on Dartmoor. A large cairn and a trig point mark the top.
