Creag Meagaidh is a sprawling mountain above Loch Laggan, with a flat, mossy summit plateau topped by a large cairn and five ridges running out between five deep corries. The cliffs of Coire Ardair are a renowned winter climbing ground, and a narrow gap called the Window leads up from the corrie towards the top. The hill became a National Nature Reserve in 1986, after public opposition stopped plans to cover it in conifers.
