The name is thought to mean 'peak of the pot of the high corrie', and the hill sits right above Coire Ardair, whose cliffs are famous for winter and ice climbing. Its small summit cairn looks down on The Window, a narrow and often windy gap between crags that separates it from Creag Meagaidh. The hill lies inside Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve, where the high ground is protected for nesting dotterel.
