Slate mining has left its mark on Allt-fawr (697.9 m), which overlooks Blaenau Ffestiniog. Oakeley Quarry, the world's largest underground slate mine, is on its northern slope and Cwmorthin Quarry on its southern; the two join beneath the summit, and collapsed workings are visible on the surface. The top is a rocky outcrop, with Moel Druman 1.0 km away.
