Part of the Aran range, Gwaun y Llwyni (685.5 m) is a subsidiary summit of Aran Fawddwy, which lies 2.0 km to the north-east. Its very steep southern face forms one of the backwalls of Cwm Cywarch, with Pen yr Allt Uchaf rising on the other side. The top is a grassy knoll marked by a small cairn, and Glasgwm lies to the west.
