Aonach Beag, the 'small ridge', is the link in the chain of high summits between shapely Beinn Eibhinn and the massive Geal-Charn, and its name may reflect that place between two more striking neighbours. A cairn marks the top. It's a long way from any road: walkers come in on estate tracks and stalkers' paths from Glen Spean, or from Culra, where the bothy is now closed because asbestos was found in it.
