Bidein a' Ghlas Thuill is the northern and highest summit of An Teallach, a name that means 'the forge' or 'the anvil'. One idea is that it comes from the mountain's shape and colour and the mist that hangs round its pinnacles. A trig point marks the top, with rocks just to the south. From 1891 until 1981 this was the only Munro on the massif, until Sgùrr Fiona was given separate status.
