Na Gruagaichean has a double top, and the southern of the two is the true summit, marked by a cairn. Its Gaelic name means 'the maidens', and an old tale tells of a hunter who saw two young women between this hill and its neighbour. Narrow ridges run from the top to Binnein Mor and Stob Coire a' Chairn, while a third drops south towards Kinlochleven, where an old stalkers' path climbs up from sea level.
