Sgurr Eilde Mor sits at the eastern end of the Mamores, about 6 km north-east of Kinlochleven, and rises as a steep cone of loose quartzite blocks and scree. Walkers usually reach it by a stalkers' path to the col at Coire an Lochan, then climb a steep, bouldery ridge to the cairn on top.
