Sgòr Gaoith, the 'windy peak', is the highest point of a long north-south ridge on the western edge of the Cairngorms. Its top sits right on the brink of the cliffs that drop east to Loch Einich, with the Braeriach massif across the glen. The western side is gentler, with heather slopes and shallow corries falling towards the pinewoods of Glen Feshie.
