Sgùrr an Lochain means 'peak of the little loch', after the lochan sitting in one of the craggy corries on its north side. It's in the middle of the South Glen Shiel Ridge, between Loch Hourn and Glen Shiel, and from most directions it looks like a neat cone with a sharp crest. Almost everyone climbs it as part of the ridge traverse. A cairn marks the top, though a grassy rock a few metres away is a touch higher.
