Sgùrr Chòinnich Mòr sits at the western end of the Grey Corries, where the ridge twists round before dropping towards the Aonachs and Ben Nevis. The top is a narrow, grassy crest with a cairn, set above slopes of shattered rock. The name is usually given as 'big mossy peak', and its north-east shoulder carries the high ridge on to the rest of the Grey Corries.
