Stob Choire Claurigh is the highest point of the Grey Corries, an 8 km ridge east of the Aonachs that stays above 800 m. A cairn and shelter mark the top, and from there you look south-west along the whole ridge to Aonach Beag and Ben Nevis. The name means 'peak of the brawling corrie', possibly after the roaring of stags in the rut. Its pale grey rock makes it easy to pick out from Spean Bridge.
