Sgùrr nan Clach Geala takes its name, 'peak of the white stone', from the pale quartzite rocks near its summit. On its east side the cliffs fall around 400 m into Coire Mòr, the highest crags in the Fannichs, with winter climbs such as Skyscraper Buttress and Gamma Gully. The top has a cairn beside the stump of a vandalised trig point, and An Teallach shows up to the north-west.
