Little Mell Fell is a smooth, grassy dome above Watermillock, north of Ullswater, with an Ordnance Survey trig pillar on top. Its name goes back to a Brittonic word related to Welsh moel, 'bare hill', and was written Melfel in 1279. Along with Great Mell Fell, it's the only Lakeland fell built of reddish desert conglomerate, which weathers into rounded shapes, and the view reaches east over the Eden Valley to the Pennines.
