High Stones is the highest point of both Sheffield and South Yorkshire, out on the Howden Moors between Howden and Langsett reservoirs. A small cairn marks the spot, though a patch of moor just west may be a touch higher. The National Trust looks after the land as part of its High Peak Estate. Margery Hill, its near twin, is around 1.5 km further north on the same edge.
