South-west of Meltham, West Nab is a rocky gritstone top whose summit is a tor standing just over a metre higher than the nearby trig point. Its ridge is strewn with boulders, and some carry carvings: a flat rock near the trig point bears concentric circles, and there's a relief of a bearded, cloaked figure close by. Stone Age people worked flint up here, and tiny flint tools called microliths have been found on the summit.
