Beinn Iutharn Mhor rises at the head of Glen Ey, south-west of Braemar, and stands out as a steep-sided peak in the rolling hills of the Mounth. The name is given as 'big sharp-ridged mountain'. It's a fairly complex hill, with crests and shoulders above sloping corries, and its ridges link to Carn Bhac and Carn an Righ. A cairn marks the top.
