Ben Chonzie tops a wide area of rolling moor and rounded hills that fills the ground from Loch Earn north to Loch Tay, about 11 km north-west of Crieff. Its broad, flat top carries a cairn and shelter. The name may mean 'mountain of the narrowness', or come from a Gaelic word for moss. It's often called one of the dullest Munros, but quiet walkers on the plateau often see mountain hares.
