Meall Garbh, the 'rough hill', lies near the north-east end of the Lawers range and is hard to pick out from the A827, where most ascents begin. Only a small cairn marks its top. The south face drops in crags to Lochan nan Cat, and a ridge leads south-west over An Stùc to Ben Lawers. The old remains of abandoned shielings lie near the path on the way up.
