Stob Dubh is the southern and highest point of Buachaille Etive Beag, the 'little herdsman of Etive', and it's marked by a cairn. The mountain is a narrow ridge about 3 km long, held between Glen Coe and Glen Etive, with the Lairig Gartain on one side cutting it off from its bigger sibling, Buachaille Etive Mòr, and the Lairig Eilde on the other. Most people come up from the A82 to the bealach, then follow the crest south-west to the top.
