Carn Liath means 'grey cairn', and it fits: patches of grey scree show through the grass on its steep slopes above Loch Moraig. It's the first of the three Munros of Beinn a' Ghlo, a sprawling massif of nineteen corries that Queen Victoria admired from Glen Tilt in 1844. A large cairn crowns the summit, which looks out over Blair Atholl towards the Lowlands.
