Druim Shionnach, 'ridge of foxes', sits towards the eastern end of the South Glen Shiel Ridge, with Creag a' Mhaim to the east and Aonach air Chrith to the west. It has two tops joined by a sharp ridge, and a cairn marks the summit. The south side above Glen Quoich is steep but grassy, while the north is cut into corries, with cliffs below the western top and bouldery Coire nan Leac, where stags roar in autumn.
