Ladhar Bheinn is the highest point of Knoydart, a complicated mountain of ridges, corries and crags with no road anywhere near it. Its name is usually given as 'hoof mountain' or 'hill of the hoof or claw'. The north-eastern slopes, including Coire Dhorrcail, were bought by the John Muir Trust in 1987, and native birch, oak, hazel, rowan and Scots pine are now regrowing there. A cairn marks the summit.
