Meall Glas is Gaelic for 'greenish-grey hill', a name probably given by people in Glen Lochay, who see its curving northern outline. From Glen Dochart it looks like little more than a swell of moorland, yet it's the highest point of the uplands between the two glens. A small cairn on a rocky outcrop marks the top, with the Mamlorn hills around the head of Glen Lochay and the Crianlarich peaks in view.
