Sgòrr Dhònuill, 'Donald's peak', is the western of the two Munros on Beinn a' Bheithir, the horseshoe of hills above Ballachulish. The mountain's own name is given as 'mountain of the beast' or 'of the thunderbolt', and local legend tells of a dragon in Corrie Liath that preyed on travellers until a skipper trapped her with a bridge of spiked barrels. The top has a cairn, with an embedded rock beside it taken as the high point.
