Stob Ghabhar means 'goats' peak', and it's often counted the finest of the Black Mount Munros, with three ridges running out from its cairn. On its east face the Upper Couloir cuts up the headwall of Coire Dhearbhadh, a winter ice climb first done in 1897. The Gaelic poet Duncan Ban MacIntyre was born in its southern foothills near Victoria Bridge, and from the top Rannoch Moor fills the view east.
