Tom na Gruagaich, 'hill of the maiden', is the southern of the two Munros on Beinn Alligin, whose own name is thought to mean 'jewelled hill'. Its top has a cairn and a trig point set on a plinth, reached by climbing through the sheltered Coire nan Laogh. It was only a Munro Top until 1997, and from here an easy scramble leads north towards Sgùrr Mòr and the great rockfall scar of Eag Dhubh.
