Spidean Coire nan Clach is the high point of Beinn Eighe's main ridge, though it only joined the Munro list in 1997. Its name means 'peak of the corrie of stones', and a cairn marks the top, which looks out over Glen Torridon. The mountain lies in Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, the first in Britain, and in March 1951 an RAF Lancaster crashed just below the ridge above Coire Mhic Fhearchair, killing all eight crew.
