Together with its top Y Fronllwyd, Carnedd y Filiast is the most northerly summit of the Glyderau, reaching 821 m. Vast layered slabs on its crags give some exceptionally long, easy climbing routes, some with over 1,000 feet of continuous climbing. From the very rocky summit, marked by a small cairn, the view takes in Anglesey, Snowdon, the Carneddau, Tryfan and Marchlyn Mawr reservoir, and on exceptionally clear days the Isle of Man and the Wicklow Mountains.
New to the Pennants?Read our guide: What Are The Welsh Pennants? The summit is very rocky, with crags of vast layered slab.
