Broad and flat-topped, Fan Nedd reaches 663 m in the Fforest Fawr part of the Brecon Beacons, with a trig point on the summit and a prominent modern cairn at the northern end of the plateau. A couple of ancient cairns lie on its eastern slopes. Its northern face is steep and craggy, and most walkers follow a path skirting its rim.
New to the Pennants?Read our guide: What Are The Welsh Pennants?Old Red Sandstone underlies the hill but is mostly hidden beneath glacial till and hill peat, with rock exposed mainly on the craggy northern face.
