Peat bog covers the long plateau of Llechwedd Du, a 613.4 m subsidiary summit of Esgeiriau Gwynion that runs east to the higher Moel y Cerrig Duon. The highest ground is a few metres north-west of a small quartzite cairn, on one of the large peat hags at the western edge. A road crosses the plateau at Bwlch y Groes, the pass between Llechwedd Du and Moel y Cerrig Duon.
