Brim Fell is the grassy, whale-backed middle of the Coniston ridge, between Coniston Old Man and Swirl How, with a slate cairn on top. Its Coniston face is all crag, including the shattered cliffs of Raven Tor, which splits the corrie tarns of Low Water and Levers Water. The lower slopes were part of the Coniston copper mines, and the Paddy End workings below the fell were the most productive in the valley.
