Lord's Seat is the highest point of the forested hills above Whinlatter, a dome of bare rock with no cairn, just the stumps of an old iron fence close by. Conifers cover much of its slopes, and lead and zinc were mined on the eastern side, the last mines closing in 1920. From the top you look across Bassenthwaite Lake to the Northern Fells, and on a clear day over the Solway Firth to Criffel.
