Seathwaite Fell is rugged and rocky, almost ringed by water, with Sprinkling Tarn on one side, Grains Gill on another and small tarns along its knobbly ridge. Wainwright's summit is the peaked northern top, a cairn with a slightly higher rock beside it that looks down into upper Borrowdale, even though the fell's true high point lies further south. The rain gauge above Seathwaite hamlet, at its foot, makes Seathwaite the wettest place in England by the records.
