Lord's Seat is the high point of Rushup Edge, the long ridge that runs west from Mam Tor with Edale on one side and the Vale of Rushup on the other. Just east of the top is a large Bronze Age bowl barrow, about 15 metres across and 2 metres high. It seems to have escaped the Victorian barrow diggers, though stone-getters took a bite out of its top in the late 1700s.
