A' Chailleach is a flat-topped hill in the Monadh Liath above Newtonmore, and its summit carries a cairn with a wind shelter. The name is Gaelic for 'the old woman'. From the west and south it looks like a plain sweep of grass and heather, but the east side drops into a craggy corrie whose rim can hold a big cornice in winter.
