Geal Chàrn, 'white cairn', is the most westerly Munro of the Monadh Liath, and its summit has a cairn about 2 m tall. From most directions it looks like rolling, grassy upland above the River Spey. Its hidden east side holds a corrie with a dark lochan beneath cliffs, and among its less-seen features is An Dirc Mhòr, a deep gash cut by glacial action.
