Ben More, the 'great mountain', is the highest peak on Mull and the only island Munro outside Skye. It's what remains of a volcano active around 60 million years ago, and magnetic rock near the top can throw a compass off in mist. An OS rivet sits in the middle of a large circular stone shelter on the summit, and on a clear day you look over the Sound of Mull to Staffa, Ulva, the Ross of Mull and Iona.
