Bruach na Frithe means 'slope of the deer forest', and it's one of the easiest of the main Black Cuillin peaks on Skye, with routes that need no scrambling. Its trig pillar is the only one in the Cuillin, though the true high point is a rock just beside it. Professor J D Forbes made the first recorded ascent in 1845, and the summit is rated one of the finest viewpoints in the range.
