Meall Corranaich is the westernmost hill of the Ben Lawers range, joined to Meall a' Choire Leith by a ridge running north towards Glen Lyon. Its name is uncertain. Suggestions include 'hill of the sickle', 'notched hill' and 'hill of lamenting', and it may have been garbled when the Ordnance Survey first mapped it. The cairn looks out over Glen Lyon, and the south ridge is a favourite with ski mountaineers.
