Mount Keen is the most easterly Munro, with a trig point on its rocky top and a steep drop on the eastern side. The old Mounth Road between Glen Esk and Glen Tanar passes close to the summit, and Queen Victoria travelled it during her Balmoral holidays. On the Glen Mark side, the Queen's Well marks where she and Prince Albert stopped in 1861. On a clear day you can pick out the Cairngorms, Lochnagar especially.
