Sgurr na Lapaich rises above Loch Mullardoch, and its rocky top has a trig point, with a large boulder nearby that is actually the highest point. The name means 'peak of the bog', which feels odd for such a rugged hill. Deep corries with lochans cut into its sides, and it stands out from the Moray Firth some 50 km away, where locals have used it to judge the weather.
