Sgùrr na Sgìne means 'knife peak', a name linked to the blade-like wall of rock below the summit on its eastern side. Seen from the A87 near the site of the Battle of Glen Shiel, it's a sharp cone next to The Saddle. The top has a small cairn, with views north to the Forcan Ridge, north-east to the Kintail hills and south-west into Knoydart. Its narrow north ridge was nicknamed 'Concorde Ridge' by Hamish Brown after a flock of ptarmigan startled him there.
