Seen from Glen Shiel, The Saddle's twin tops and the dip between them really do look like a saddle, and its Gaelic name, An Diollaid, means the same thing. The Forcan Ridge, climbing over Sgurr nan Forcan to the summit, is often rated one of Scotland's best ridge walks. A small cairn marks the top, and the view of the hill from the site of the Battle of Glen Shiel is one of the best known in the Highlands.
