True to its name, Gallt yr Ogof has a cave on the cliffs of its precipitous eastern side. At 763 m it is the most easterly summit over 2,000 feet in the Glyders, and a sister peak to Y Foel Goch, 0.8 km away on the ridge towards Glyder Fach. The highest rock is a few metres from the cairn.
