One of the most recognisable peaks in Britain, Tryfan rises above the Ogwen Valley to 917.5 m in a classic pointed shape with rugged crags. On top stand the twin monoliths of Siôn a Siân, or Adam and Eve, some three metres high and 1.2 m apart; those who make the step between them are said to gain the "Freedom of Tryfan". The popular north ridge is a Grade 1 scramble by its easiest line, while the south ridge links to Glyder Fach, 1.3 km away.
