Bowscale Fell is a broad, grassy dome in the Northern Fells, with a stone shelter at the highest point and a scatter of stones across the top. On its northern side, Bowscale Tarn sits in a corrie under Tarn Crag. Victorian visitors were taken up to it by pony, and local legend said two immortal fish lived in the tarn. The summit gives a good view of Blencathra and Sharp Edge to the south.
