Great Sca Fell is the highest of the Uldale Fells, and the River Ellen rises on its western slopes. Its top is a broad, flat plateau where the high point is hard to pin down, now marked by a cairn built after Wainwright's guide came out. The Skiddaw massif blocks the view south, but northwards you look across the Solway plain to the Scottish Borders.
