Steeple is really a rocky spur of Scoat Fell, but it earns a place of its own for its sharp, pointed shape when seen from Ennerdale. The tiny top has room for only a few people and a small cairn. A short, stony and loose arête joins it to Scoat Fell, with the cliffs of Mirk Cove and Mirklin Cove falling away on either side, and while higher fells hide the view south, Ennerdale Water is laid out below to the north.
